After not being able to bag a deer last year, Kelsey was thrilled when Pete gave the go for her to bag this nice buck!  He was the biggest that she had ever killed, scoring 166.  Way to go Kelsey!

It has been a great year and we’ve met some of the most wonderful people!  The Hagen family from Georgia is no exception!  We had a wonderful time with them and the boys each managed to bag nice management bucks.  They said that they were the biggest that they had ever killed!   They’ve already spoken for hunts for next year and we can’t wait for them to come back!  Congratulations Todd and Dillon!

Another One For Trent

IMG_7249TrentWeb East Texas Youth Trenton Greening returned again this year for another fine buck.   Hunting has been tough this year because of the deer having so much to eat, but he finally managed to bag a nice 150 class deer.  Congratulations Trent!  We loved having you and can’t wait for you and your dad to come back!

Keeping It In The Family

IMG_7202DonnieWebIMG_7170LaneWebIMG_7206LarryWebWe thoroughly enjoyed our visit with Louisiana hunters; Larry, Donny, and Lane.  Lane has bragging rights of the three  by being the first to bag a buck (it was his first!) and he did it on his 7th birthday!   I am sure that will be one birthday he will not forget anytime soon!  Way to go Lane!!!  Dad and Granddad also managed to bag nice management deer, making the trip back to Louisiana an enjoyable one for all!  I am sure Donny and Larry will be trading stories upon their return!  We hope to see them again soon!

We always love meeting our new hunters and by the time they leave, we feel like they are family.  It is a special treet when they decide to return the following year.  We were thrilled when East Texas hunter Lewis Ivey decided to return this year and bring his grandson!  Lewis managed to bag a nice 150 class deer and Dakota didn’t have any trouble carrying on the family tradition bagging his first buck!  Congratulations Boys!

One of the benefits of hunting with us is that we are able to offer hunts on two separate ranches.  This petite South Texas Hunter didn’t have any trouble showing the “Big Boys” how is was done.  She bagged her first trophy deer without any trouble!  He measured a whopping 27 3/8″ wide!  Wow!!

For those of you who like the outdoors, but don’t particularly like to shoot a gun, there are always plenty of opportunities to take pictures of the different wildlife that South Texas has to offer.

We thoroughly enjoyed our new friends from Georgia.  Richard and Matt Delarber each bagged a nice management buck on Richard’s Birthday to celebrate his big day!  I am sure they will have lots of  South Texas stories to tell when they get back to Georgia!   Congratulations boys!

Mr. and Mrs. Chase Hermes

For our old hunting friends who have been wondering, yes, we have a new son-n-law.  Kadie and Chase were married on May 23, at Travis Park United Methodist Church in San Antonio and enjoyed a wonderful honeymoon to the Bahamas.  The best part is that they’ve decided to make their home here at the ranch.   Chase is the Assistant Manager for the feedyard and Kadie is finishing her Student Teaching and will graduate in December.  We couldn’t be happier to finally have a son and are thrilled to have them living here at the ranch!
